  1. Finger v1.3.5 & Fingerd v1.3.5 is an implementation of the UNIX Finger
  2. protocol for Macs with MacTCP.  Fingerd is a background only application
  3. that allows you to be fingered, while Finger is a finger client, allowing
  4. you to finger other machines, as well as allowing others to finger you.
  5. Both are System 7 friendly (but hopefully not dependent).

  7. Changes in this version:
  8. Actually included the correct version of the daemon (oops :-), fixing the
  9.    bug with QUIT appleevents that caused Fingerd to crash on Shutdown
  10. Added a setable default for the Finger window
  11. Colourized icons - Thanks to Don Nash for the icons!
  12. Fixed it so that the strings which are returned by tokens are translated 7->8
  13. Fixed %LOOKUP to not uppercase the line.
  14. Added a menu item to save the finger hierarchical menu
  15. Added a preference to automatically open the Finger window on startup
  16. Added Option-Quit to quit Fingerd & Finger.
  17. Change "Finger" to "Whois" when you click the Whois check box
  18. Reversed the position of user & machine so user comes first
  19. Allow chained fingering in the client (eg root@foo.edu@bar.edu)
  20. Should be more difficult to crash with out of memory, though still not impossible.
  21. Fixed the edit menu selections.
  22. Changed %LOG to put a time stamp in as well.
